Taura Edgar, founder of TALK Hong Kong, will address the urgent issue of child sexual abuse in Hong Kong. Drawing on her extensive research, she will highlight alarming statistics, such as the estimated 12% prevalence of child sexual abuse among children in Hong Kong, with a staggering 96% of cases going unreported. She’ll look at what we do and don’t know from the official data and how the current laws stand.
Taura will emphasize the critical need for education and training to empower adults to prevent abuse before it occurs, advocating for a collaborative approach to tackle this public health crisis. Her insights aim to foster a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by survivors and the importance of effective support systems within the family law framework.
*This Event is for HKFLA Members and Invited Guests, Students, and Judiciary only*
